Vericant Interviewer Frequently Asked Questions
Does this job offer a visa?
As part-time contractor work, Vericant does not provide any visas for Part-Time Interviewers. We do provide work visas for full-time staff though, so please check out our other open positions if you are interested in joining our team in a full-time capacity.
Is there a training process?
Yes! Our interviewers will go through a detailed training process to ensure that you’ll be fully equipped and comfortable to interview the applicants. It includes: online learning, check-ins with your trainer, mock interviews, and supervised interview days.
You will be compensated for training after passing successfully.
What is the schedule like? How big of a time commitment will this be?
Generally, the schedule will be different for each month, but you’ll have more than enough time to plan around your other commitments. Do note that our busy season is from July-January, while there will be significantly fewer interviews during the down season.
In-person interviewers will be asked for your availability and given your schedule at least 2 weeks in advance. You should be able to commit to either half days (either mornings or afternoons) or full days (roughly from 9 AM to 5 PM) on one to two weekend days per month.
Remote interviewers have full control of your schedule, but you should expect to commit around 5 hours per week for interviewing.
Do interviewers have to travel to other cities?
Interviewers only do interviews within the city that they are based in. Travel opportunities that arise will also be offered to qualified and trained interviewers.

Will I have a script to follow?
We provide our interviewers with a guideline. Each section of the interview starts with a single question to establish a theme or a topic, and all of the rest of the questions during that section are follow-up questions that the interviewer comes up with in response to the applicant’s answers. This means that interviewers are constantly listening attentively and thinking on their feet. These personalized follow-up questions means that each interview we conduct is unique.
You will learn these interview skills during training.
English isn’t my native language, but I am fluent and have even lived in English speaking countries before. Can I still be a Vericant Interviewer?
In your time conducting interviews for Vericant, you will be able to hone the skills that will help you succeed in future interviews of your own, as well as improve both your communication and conversational skills.
You’ll also be able to be a big part of an applicant’s journey to achieve their academic and future goals!
I do some SAT tutoring/essay writing/college counseling for students in China. Will that be a problem?
At Vericant we take our neutrality very seriously, and we don’t allow interviewers to have any contact with the students outside of the interview day. This means that if you do other work that involves helping students prepare to study abroad, this is a serious conflict of interest with interviewing at Vericant.
If you believe that an exception should be made, please communicate this with the hiring manager.Â
Are there promotions or other job opportunities?
Yes! Our part-time interviewers can be eligible for pay raises or additional opportunities, such as becoming a location manager or transitioning to a full-time position.
